Summer 2026

 With my torn achilles tendon last week, you've had to take on a lot more at home and with the boys. We aren't even in a sprint, we are in a marathon now. This summer will be busy. But, we can learn, grow, and progress despite difficulties. It is not always easy, but we can get even closer through the pain. 

 I appreciate you so much. I love you so much. I love you - your patience, calm, resilience, and peace. My life is infinitely better because of you. I am proud to say you are my wife. I am humbled you are my wife. Thank you for loving me so much. 

Together. 695 Weeks.

We continue growing every day, together. Right now we have things we hope for, we pray for, and we don't know if we'll get the answer we hope for or not. But through the ups and downs, the answers to our prayers of "yes" or "no," I know we will thrive through it all together.  Since our first date on December 18, 2012, it has been 695 weeks together. I love you so much and look forward to growing together!

Mexico! 2026

 February 11-17, 2026 - Mexico! (Riviera Maya - "Secrets Maroma Beach"

Sonrisa - I enjoyed our early morning jogs together, parasailing, Selvatica zip lining and cenote excursion, beach volleyball, bike tour, pickleball, walking on the beach, and meals together. I love you so much!

Sacrifice

Sacrifice is a funny name for a blog whose purpose is to show my wife how much I love her. 

I have heard people talking about many of the good things in life involving sacrificing something - giving up one thing to get something else. I haven't felt that I have given anything of value up to be with you (I only gave up lesser, meaningless things that don't really matter, like sitting at home watching TV by myself) - and the sacrifice I hope to make as your husband is to put God and you before myself. 

But, I am pretty selfish and not great at serving God and you. My prayer today is to take one step closer to serving God, and you, before myself. Some days it feels like two steps back and one forward. Thank you for your grace and forgiveness when I am quick to anger, defensive, and selfish. You are a great wife and I am so blessed to spend life with you!

December milestones

 On December 14, 2012 is when we first "connected" on Facebook. Although we had first met and talked in person, this was just another small step towards pursuit. Four days later, we met for our first date (tomorrow marks 13 years ago since that first date!).

 December is a big month for milestones for us. I am truly grateful to have you in my life. And even more grateful to have been lucky enough to be able to be your husband. I love you so much! Thank you for saying "yes" on that day 13 years ago. Our lives changed so much that day. 

Dates

I love writing down our dates after we go out. I feel very lucky, very grateful, to be able to go out on dates with you. Honestly I am blessed to be able to be your husband. You make me feel loved and it's a great feeling being around you. You are honest, generous, faithful, and kind (to everyone). I love you!
