Gavincito
Gavin is in the middle of round 4 of treatment and here we are. Our life at the hospital is not the life we would have chosen. I am truly blessed to have you by my side on this journey. Gavin has blessed us tremendously. You have blessed me greatly, and you are such a strong person. Your strength of faith inspires me.
Thank you for leaning in during this journey. We can still grow together, despite the difficulties we have faced in life. I sit here truly awestruck by God and by you, because you are so honest and loving towards Gavin and I. I thank God for bringing us together!

You're Not Alone
In life we have learned that beyond our current goal, when we finally achieve what we set out to achieve, what lies in front of us is simply a new goal.
We realize, through life experiences, that the grass is not necessarily greener over there.
Everything is not "fixed" after we finally graduate high school and start college. College brings new challenges. After the degree comes our career, and miraculously that turns out not to be the antidote to life. What gives? Surely marriage will fix everything.
Although we know marriage doesn't miraculously fix everything, one aspect of marriage with you that I love is that we do life together. Whatever is going on, we are together, supporting each other. Marriage doesn't fix a broken world but being married to you has made me a better person and I am lucky to have you as a wife.
Sonrisa, you have been an amazing and inspiring support through these past few months. You have an inner strength and courage. You open up to Gavin and I in love. What I like is that when I'm in a bad mood, you tickle me or do some unexpected thing or say the unexpected to get me out of my funk. I know and feel how much you love me!
I am so in love with you and so lucky to be with you.

perseverance
When I first started writing to you in this blog, my purpose was (and is) to write about a different aspect of your character or who you are -- your integrity, your smile, your overflowing love for others, how thoughtful you are.
Today I want to focus on your perseverance.
Our journey has not been easy (But who's is?). But in our case, we've had more than just a "bump in the road." You have persevered, still having patience and faith. You could have shut down, turned away, and denied reality. But you stand strong. Yes it is difficult, something nobody should have to go through.
And yet we still know God is good. We still have faith in the goodness of God, although we don't understand so much in life. We love each other and don't turn away. Thank you for teaching me patience and perseverance, mi sonrisa.

Two Weeks
Tiffany,
These last two weeks have been the most difficult times in either of our lives. You and Gavin are the most important people in the world. My focus is you. Our little baby is sick. We are doing everything possible for each other and Gavincito.
Thank you for your presence.
Thank you for your patience.
You teach me patience everyday. You truly make me a better person. We have prayed more these last two weeks than at any other time in our lives.
God, thank you for the gift of each other and our son Gavin. We love You, and we love our son. Thank you for being with us. Thank you for loving us and our son, Gavin.
