Sonrisa,
I love you so much. One of the reasons I love you is that you are thoughtful - like when you remember people's anniversaries (like my grandma and grandpa's). I know you write them down to remember, but still the fact that you like keeping track of everyone's anniversaries is thoughtful of you.
When we are out at the store, you randomly think of thoughtful gifts for people. You love thinking of others and blessing them. You are a great gift-giver.
I love you!
Your husband

| 2018! |
It's good to look back at where we have been. We can forget so many things as time moves forward, so I like to document our lives at this moment (although I can't remember very many things due to bad memory)
Here are a few of the things we did in 2018:
-In January we went to Kansas City for the weekend. You had just stopped breastfeeding Noah we got away for 2 nights. I got the flu right when we got there....
-In June we went to Estes Park with your family.
-Tried R Taco (not that great)
-Chicago in September (just the two of us)
-Costa Rica in November (just the two of us)
Ongoing things we are involved in:
City Group - at our house, Hanson's, Griffin's
Looking for a new house near Sunset Hills elementary
Gavin in Musical Theatre at The Rose
Gavin turning 4, Noah turning 2
People we lost:
Teresa
Grandpa Norton (in 2017)
New people in the family:
-Blaine Hood
-Lots of Sandquists

Thank You
Last week out of the blue you sent me an email. I don't ever want to forget it so I'm going to put it below. Thank you for being so loving and encouraging me! You make me a better person. I love you so much! Here's what you wrote me:
I just want to thank you for being so helpful and supportive over the last week. You were wonderful helping me out when I felt horrible and taking care of the kids. I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband that cares for me so much. Thanks you for being such a good dad too. They boys truly adore you. They love playing billy goats or wrestling and they love when you just spend time with them. You are such and amazin man of God and I LOVE YOU!

Grateful
Tiffany,
I am so grateful that you are my wife. You love so well. Love just seems to pour out of your heart - for Gavin & Noah, for me, for others, for God. Thank you for showing me this. Thank you for showing patience. You patience and love astound me. I love you so much.
Nick

Date Nights! (2015-2018)
This is a list of some of the date nights we have been on over the past few years. After years go by, our brain can't remember all the fun dates we've been on - so here is a nice reminder for us. This isn't every single date we have been on, but quite a few!
I love you, sonrisa!
(Scroll to the bottom of this post and start at the bottom and read from bottom to top to go in chronological order from older to newer)
2018
June 29 - Impromptu fireworks show (the Memorial park fireworks) while your mom was here watching the boys. Maybe this wasn't a planned "date" but I loved sitting in the car, watching the fireworks. You love fireworks so much so I like to see your face light up - plus we hadn't seen fireworks in a couple years!
June 13-17 - hiking together in Estes Park. We climbed halfway up Eagle Cliff (just the two of us) while the boys napped one afternoon.
May 30 - Wicked at the Orpheum Theater
April 27-28 weekend - The boys went to Grand Island. On Friday night we walked downtown by the riverfront and went to ConeFlower in Blackstone district for ice cream after. The next morning you took us to Dundee Double Shot for coffee! We went to the March of Dimes walk at riverfront landing. In the afternoon we watched a Netflix movie (The week with Adam Sandler). That night we went on the DSA riverboat cruise, then went out for drinks after (Bar - Bulls & Bears)
March 31 - Funny Bone to see Andy Woodhull. This was a nice surprise - we had never heard of him but just randomly bought tickets. He was really funny, we laughed a lot!
March 10 - We went out to a move (Wonder?) while Alan/Linsdey watched the boys for us
February 16 - Fundraiser (at the Rose Theater) for Gavin's preschool Little Leaf. We went out for drinks afterward
February 14 - An American in Paris at the Orpheum Theater for Valentine's Day
January - We went to Kansas City for the weekend; it was our first trip away after you stopped breastfeeding Noah! I got the flu. We went to IKEA, and the coffee shop tour! Had BBQ picnic at the park.
2017
October 14 - Finding Neverland at the Orpheum Theater. I loved this musical! It was a great surprise. We also saw Gavin's eye doctor, Dr Suh at this one. (I think it was this musical that we saw him)
September 16 - Nebraska Football game vs. Northern Illinois. We sat in the visitor section and the huskers lost! Pretty neat experience.
July - Sarah Tuma's wedding in Ireland!

May 31 - Went to the restaurant España in Rockbrook Village for tapas, then we met Matt & Claire at the boardgame café (Spiel Bound) off of Farnam street near midtown crossing to play board games and card games
February 27 - Mummenschanz
February 17 - Newsies!
February 5 - Mula Mexican restaurant in Blackstone district
January - We went to the movie "La la land" (with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone) but I don't remember when. I think it was early 2017, like January?
2016
December 29 - we went to Kaneko in downtown Omaha. They had the transportation exhibit with all the cars and bikes.
December 21 - You planned the date at West lanes where we went bowling
November 20 weekend - Your birthday in Chicago! We went to Second City comedy club, Chicago pizza. We stayed with a Judge in the neighborhood near Wrigley Field.
November 14 - DSA cocktail party (at UNO)
November 12 - Pedal Punk at Orpheum
October 22 - Noli's pizza in Blackstone district
October 14 - Starbucks coffee date
October 8 - You took us out to the backline comedy club
September 26 - camping for my birthday!
September 15 - DSA education series then went for a walk afterwards
2015-2016
We stayed in the hotel downtown and went on that bike ride at 10pm but I don't remember when! (The Owl Ride) I think G was still in the hospital and somebody stayed with him, so it was probably the summer/fall of 2015?
I love you, sonrisa!

Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day, mi amor!
You are the best mother Gavin and Noah could ever have. They are so lucky that you are so loving, compassionate, and that you teach them so well. Thank you for marrying me and having beautiful kids with me! You do an amazing job with G&N. We love you!
We love you for reflecting one of the Proverbs (Proverbs 31:25-30):
"She is clothed in strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and all her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.'
Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

Resolve
As we face difficulties, (not big, scary difficulties like a serious illness - but day-to-day difficulties, like taking the time to talk to each other after a long day of work & raising two kids), my resolve to pursue you and love you never diminishes.
While making time to plan dates, look into each others eyes, and share a drink together or have a fancy date night become harder to coordinate (baby sitter for two little kids, anyone?), I want you to know how much I love you and want to make sure we still do take the extra effort to pursue each other.
I love you, sonrisa. You are my love, forever.

Happy 2018!
Last month (December 18, 2017) was the five year anniversary since our first date that chilly morning at the Dundee Double Shot.
I love all our moments together. I am incredibly grateful to have you by my side as we live, laugh, love, raise kids, and walk together through life. Thank God we met! (Really, thank you Jesus)
